The daughters of rock'n'roll's two biggest living legends, Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, attended a party at New York's new Ciano (that experienced some fire alarm-causing technical difficulties) the other night celebrating Britain's young crop of It designers like Meadham Kirchoff (seen above on Georgia May Jagger) and Felicity Brown (on the Richards girls, Alexandra and Theodora).

Alex and Theo's dad just released his highly acclaimed memoir, Life - which I will be picking up very soon!

Did you all know the American mid-term elections are two weeks from today?

Last night I attended A Night on Broadway with Michelle Obama, a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee emceed by Sarah Jessica Parker with performances by three Broadway actresses and the legendary Patti LaBelle. Michelle and Jill Biden both appeared to be wearing Lanvin, and both looked stunning. It is clear that Ms. Parker is passionate about the Party and many of the causes the Obama administration has taken on, and Mrs. Obama has become a masterful campaigner, giving a rousing speech that made clear the many accomplishments the Democrats have already made in the past 20 months. Needless to say, LaBelle was spectacular and hilarious, and shouted out Michael Kors for her glittering ensemble.

Speaking of Mr. Kors, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand - the appointed successor to Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Senate - is featured in this month's Vogue wearing Michael Kors. Senator Gillibrand is up for a "special election" to complete Clinton's term, after which she will have to run again in 2012 for a full 6-year term. I have had the privilege of meeting Kirsten and hearing her speak on the subject of equality for GLBT Americans. She is smart, tough and committed to the cause, and we are all lucky to have a representative like her in the U.S. Senate.

Do not forget to vote on November 2.

Kim Kardashian is the cover star of W Magazine's November "Art Issue," in photos by Mark Seliger that have her looking raw, natural and quite stunningly beautiful. I love this.

There are few things that get me more excited than pop culture as high art, the marriage of the highs and lows of our mass culture. Britney by Murakami for Pop; Murakami at Versailles. Koons's Michael Jackson and Bubbles; Koons at Versailles. David LaChapelle's celebro-sanct neon fantasy lands. Warhol, obviously. Lady GaGa's "performance art." They all have a way of turning our mass culture right back at us- our obsession with celebrity and money and commodity and fame. It's a tough but irresistible look in the mirror.

The inimitably stylish Olsen sisters, Mary Kate and Ashley, did some shopping in Paris following the successful, if little publicly noticed, showing of The Row. The Row was scheduled to premiere in New York, where it is made, but supply delays put them off until Paris. I can't even get over how amazing and ridiculous they look here.

I didn't give more than a cursory look at Jason Wu's lovely spring collection, but Christina Binkley drew my attention to this irresistible confection below.

I also adored this bee-striped shirt with billowing pleated trousers.

Louis Vuitton

I love how Mssr. Jacobs alternates between doing softer, more refined, (perhaps more important?) collections and then those that are deliriously fun, in-your-face high drama. This show for Vuitton certainly falls in the latter category. You won't necessarily hear editors exclaiming about how he has changed the game, or the silhouette, this time around - but you will see some fabulous Asian women, Rachel Zoe, and perhaps Leighton Meester rocking the hell out of these disco-Samurai duds.

Fresh off the fashion buzz from her bizarrely self-obsessed blog What Courtney Wore Today (which, ironically, was rarely updated during this time), Courtney Love was one of the more ubiquitous personalities throughout the past month of fashion events, particularly in New York and Paris. She partied with the Chanel crew at the reopening of its SoHo boutique, attended (if late) the collections of her friends Narciso Rodriguez and Marc Jacobs, helped her friend Nur Khan celebrate the reopening of Don Hill's with a feisty Hole set and a cover of "Bad Romance," sang Happy Birthday to Mariacarla Boscono at her friend Riccardo Tisci's afterparty for Givenchy, and closed down Fashion Month with a performance at V Magazine's party with Printemps. And those are just the highlights. Whatever else may be going on on Planet Courtney (one I'd die to visit!), THE BITCH. LOOKS. CHIC.

Everyone is dying for the spring Chanel show, as she usually does. I sometimes have trouble getting too excited about it - they are always fun and ultra fabulous, of course - but I can't get over the above looks, on some of my favorite models. The dress on Liu Wen is utterly fabulous!

A French "fuck you"

I suppose it goes without saying that Jezebel has complaints about this spread for Paris Vogue's 90th Anniversary issue, starring the gorgeous "plus-size" model Crystal Renn and shot by fashion's favorite predatographer Terry Richardson.

I love it. The banquet theme fits Richardson's glossy style perfectly, Crystal looks stunning, and I love the idea of her saying a big, fat (no pun intended) "fuck you" to the various anonymous blog commenters and righteous fashionistas and feminists alike. "Karl shot her, but only from the bust up!" "Oh no, Crystal lost weight!" "Was she Photoshopped slim in the Gaultier ad?" "She's an impossible standard nonetheless!"

Let them eat octopus.

Speaking of Givenchy, the more I see it, the more intrigued I am by it. It felt a little tired at first, but more and more Tisci's trademark dark glamour grows on me. It's a bit otherworldly, fabulous, haunting and chic. And maybe leopard really is the new black, in which case I suppose it doesn't seem quite so like Riccardo is stretching the spotted theme into what feels like a few seasons now. These ladies above really nailed their looks.
